Filet Americain

A raw beef spread that is served on a roll for lunch, or on crackers as an appetizer. … It's a variation on the famous steaktartare, a dish supposedly named after the nomadic Tartars who roamed the plains of Russia.

Ingredients
  

  • 125 gr freshly chopped steak (is the tastiest)
  • 40 gr good mayonnaise (possibly homemade)
  • 1 gr ground sea salt
  • 1 gr ground white pepper
  • 1 gr paprika powder (extra red)
  • 1 gr chilli pepper grinded
  • small tsp fine mustard
  • very small dash Worcestershire sauce
  • egg yolk
Serving Suggestion
  • finely chopped onions and pickles (gurkens) on a baguette

Method
 

  1. Take a large bowl and stir the egg yolk
  2. Mix with the other ingredients to a smooth paste.
